The Archbishop of York is encouraging everyone to think of 5 people who they will commit to pray for over the 10 days – that they may be led to faith or grow in faith. We have cards available so that you can write down the names and carry them with you to remind you to pray daily for ‘your 5’.
There's various events happening around the Benefice this week.
St John the Baptist, Kirkby Wharfe started our #TKC19 journey with a fantastic Ascension day service.
At St Mary's Church, Church Fenton on Wednesday morning at 10.30am Morning Prayer will be focused on Thy Kingdom Come. There's also prayer stations set up in church that can be visited during opening hours this week.
At St Andrew's, Newton Kyme church will be open for prayer with Rev Debbie on Tuesday 10-11.30am, Wednesday 1-2.30pm, Thursday 4-5.30pm and Saturday 10.30-12noon. All are welcome to drop in during the open periods.
At St Mary's Tadcaster we are offering a 15 minute morning prayer session at 8am each day of Thy Kingdom Come, and a 15 minute evening prayer session at 6.15pm each day of Thy Kingdom Come. If you can't get to one of those, then there are prayer stations in church - leave a card on the prayer table and we will pray for you.
On Thursday 6th we are also having a Prayer Walk in Tadcaster, which everyone is very welcome to join. Meeting at the Grange Cresent Orchard at 11.30am. We'll be walking through Tadcaster with various stops for prayers, ending at church for a short period of prayer and then tea, coffee and biscuits.
