Stuart & Rita phoned in the middle of the week to let us know that they were reaching the halfway point of their walk. They are enjoying themselves and say that the cooler temperatures of the last week have made for ideal walking conditions. One or two days have been very long and arduous and they have been very glad to see their accommodation in the evening! They left the Lake District at the beginning of the week and after a steep climb from Patterdale to Shap are now on a (relatively!) easier stretch. They were fortunate to go over one of the highest peaks the day before snow fell on the top, otherwise they would have found it very difficult to negotiate. Please continue to remember them in your prayers – they do appreciate that so many are thinking of them.
