We begin on Sunday 18 December at 6pm with a traditional Nine Lessons and Carols - all by candlelight. Led by the church choir, with congregational carols as well.
On Christmas Eve we have two very different services - firstly a Crib service at 6pm, when the figures of Mary & Joseph, the shepherds and the wise men make their way to the stable. Suitable particularly for families with plenty to watch and familiar carols to sing. The church is usually packed - arrive in plenty of time for a good seat! At 11.30pm we have our traditional Midnight Communion, sung to a John Rutter setting - heralding in Christmas Day with joy and reverence.
Christmas Day has two services - again very different. At 8am a traditional (1662 Book of Common Prayer) Holy Communion - no hymns and a short thought. Then at 10am, a short Christmas family service - bring a present to show!!
