During February we will be particularly focusing on prayer.
At St Mary’s, Tadcaster and St Mary’s, Church Fenton we have placed ‘say one for me’ prayer post boxes, and encourage all to add any prayer requests. Where appropriate we will read these prayers at Morning Prayer or other services.
For our children and young people Rev Lucy is using a prayer tree as part of the Virtual Assembly and encourages them to use the leaf template available on our website: prayer_leaves.pdf (stmarystadcaster.co.uk) so we can add leaves of prayers to the prayer tree.
We offer space for prayer each day of the week; with Morning Prayer at 9.30am Monday-Friday, Compline on Sunday, Tuesday and Friday evenings, and on Saturdays in February St Mary’s, Tadcaster will be open for private prayer. We will shortly have details available of when other churches in our Benefice will also be open for private prayer.
As we did in November, we will again join in with the Archbishop’s Prayer for the Nation with a prayer for each day at 6pm:
In response to reaching the terrible milestone of 100,000 deaths from COVID-19, the Archbishops invite all to call on God in Prayer. Starting on 1 February we invite you to set aside time every evening to pray, particularly at 6pm each day. More than ever, this is a time when we need to love each other. Prayer is an expression of love.
